MCOP offers a Community Senior Source Handbook for Monroe County residents over the age of 60. The book contains information on State and county programs with contact information for each. Copies of the book may be obtained at the front desk at MCOP.

The Emergency Housing Rehab program offers qualifying homeowners with one rehabilitation project on their home. Rehabilitation projects can include, but are not limited to: roofing repair/replacement, furnace repair/replacement, duct work repair/replacement, furnace repair/replacement, and well repair/replacement.

The Home Care Department assists Monroe County seniors and disabled residents with following daily tasks:
- Homemaking
- Personal care
- Shopping
- Meal planning
- Meal preparation
- Respite care available for family caregivers

The Home Chore Department assists Monroe County seniors aged 60+ with home maintenance tasks to improve safety inside and outside of the home that include:
- Lawn mowing
- Cleaning gutters
- Minor carpentry
- Snow removal
- Minor electrical repairs
- Minor plumbing repairs
- Install of window air conditioners

The Home Injury Control Program includes assistance for the following items:
- Bathroom chairs & grab bars
- Bathtub rails
- Toilet seat risers & rails
- Smoke alarms
- Hand-held showers
- Safe lighting
- Non-skid surfacing

Senior Resource Advocate Service Coordinators have been trained to assist seniors in applying for Medicaid services such as medical assistance and food stamps. Our coordinators have been trained to assist seniors in finding the best Medicare Part D Prescription Program. They are available to answer questions or to help navigate through the process.

MCOP receives funds to assist Monroe County residents age 60 and older with Minor Home Repairs such as roof and floor repairs, minor furnace repairs, etc.

The Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) is a partnership between the City of Monroe, Monroe County,MSHDA, and Frenchtown Township where foreclosed homes are purchased, rehabilitated, and sold as affordable housing.

The Specialized Transportation Department provides reliable transportation to non-emergency medical appointments and treatments for senior and non-senior Monroe County residents with disability for a chronic medial condition. Many of the transportation vans are equipped with wheelchair lifts with seating for 6-10 passengers.
The programs operate Monday through Friday with morning and afternoon shifts. One week notice is preferred.
